A soldier’s medals returned
The return of stolen military medals to the family of the late Sgt. Drew Scobie is a bittersweet ending to an episode that had been all bitter. The Hawaii Army National Guard soldier, 25, was killed in Afghanistan on Jan. 10 while on a mission. In a Kailua home burglary this month, the medals for his sacrifice were stolen. They have just been returned, thanks to a reward and help of an anonymous intermediary. Here’s hoping for some peace for Scobie’s family, but bad karma for the culprit.
