Hawaii pop singer-turned-educator Glenn Medeiros is the new president of Saint Louis School.
Medeiros and Sione Thompson, the new school principal, were introduced to students at a Thursday afternoon assembly on the Kaimuki campus. Medeiros and Thompson will begin their new positions July 1.
In addition to his position as assistant professor at Chaminade University, Medeiros was a vice principal at Maryknoll School and a primary and secondary school teacher on Oahu. He received his bachelor’s degree in history and humanities from the University of Hawaii-West Oahu, his Master of Education from the University of Phoenix in Hawaii and his Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California.
"I am humbled for the opportunity to work with the excellent staff and faculty of Saint Louis School as we strive to educate students in the Marianist philosophy while developing them to be outstanding young men in the community," Medeiros said.
Thompson began his tenure at Saint Louis as a social sciences teacher and has moved up the ranks to dean of students, vice principal, director of advancement and to his current position as assistant head of school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and Master of Education from UH and is completing his Master of Business Administration at Chaminade.
