Medical examiner identifies Waikiki drowning victim
The medical examiner identified the 29-year-old woman who drowned off Kaimana Beach in Waikiki Monday as a visitor from Washington state.
Herma Amalia, of Pullman, Wash., drowned, the medical examiner said. Her death was classified as accidental.
Amalia was found unresponsive in the ocean at around 6:40 p.m. Monday.
Paramedics took her in critical condition to the hospital, where she died just before 8 p.m.
