LAS VEGAS >> A 21-year-old Los Angeles fashion designer is suing Las Vegas police and an officer she says smashed her face into a glass table during her arrest last August outside a Strip nightclub.

Ariana Mason alleges in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas that the officer put her in a choke hold and dragged her away from a scuffle outside the 1 Oak club at The Mirage early Aug. 16.

The excessive force lawsuit says Mason suffered broken teeth and facial gashes from broken glass.

It concedes she punched the officer, but alleges that he didn’t initially identify himself.

Mason’s lawyer, Brent Bryson, released security video showing some parts of the arrest.

The lawsuit seeks at least $4 million in damages.

The department is declining comment.
