HPD looks for leads in video of bus attack
The Honolulu Police Department released a video Wednesday showing suspects trying to enter a city bus apparently to attack a group of men who had fled onto the bus at a Pearl City stop.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight March 21, when police said the suspects chased the men onto a city bus. One suspect stepped in front of the bus to keep it from moving, while others began to shatter windows with various objects, police said. One man used a golf club to smash a window, causing shards of glass to fall on a passenger.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of the suspects. Call Honolulu police at 529-3111.

Truck rollover sends 2 to the hospital
Two people were injured Thursday afternoon after the vehicle they were riding in flipped over on the eastbound H-1 freeway near the Kaahumanu Street overpass in Waimalu.
Paramedics took both occupants of the vehicle to a hospital, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
A man, 40, who was not wearing a seat belt, was in critical condition after being ejected from the vehicle. A woman, 42, was reported in serious condition. She also was not wearing a seat belt, but was not ejected.
Authorities said the truck they were riding in blew a tire and rolled over on the freeway. Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. David Jenkins said firefighters responded to the scene of the accident at about 2:45 p.m.
Three lanes were closed until 5:49 p.m.
Returned purchases lead to theft charges
A Hilo man has been charged with eight offenses after trying to return some items that had been purchased with a stolen credit card.
Police said the credit card was taken April 1 from a purse left in a parked vehicle. It was used twice the next day at a store in Hilo, with each transaction exceeding $1,000.
On Monday, police said, 25-year-old Chad Wright tried to return $900 worth of the items. He was arrested and taken to the Hilo police cellblock. He was charged Tuesday with two counts each of fraud, ID theft, forgery and second-degree theft. Bail was set at $19,000.
