Sunset Beach surfer Coco Ho goes into Sunday’s final day of the World Surf League Port Taranaki Pro Women’s QS6000 in New Zealand on a wave of momentum following her impressive win over Laura Enever in the quarterfinal.

Ho controlled the quarter from the start after an early excellent 8.07 ride which left last years runner-up never able to seriously challenge.

"Laura (Enever) and I matched up on the Gold Coast too, we’re developing a bit of a rivalry, but we’re always friends once we hit the sand," Ho said. "I was so nervous, she caught a great wave and luckily for me she fell off because I know she’s capable of big scores."

Finals will be run early Sunday morning as organizers do their best to capitalize on high tide surf conditions.
