Crash victim identified as Holualoa man
Hawaii County police identified a 56-year-old man who died after a three-vehicle collision Tuesday in Kailua-Kona.
Robert Pfleger of Holualoa, driver of a 2007 motorcycle, was pronounced dead at Kona Community Hospital.
At 5:24 p.m., a 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 31-year-old Kailua-Kona woman turned left onto Kamanu Street, hit the motorcycle, which was traveling east on Hina Lani Street. The Jeep then collided head-on with a Ford pickup truck, driven by a 74-year-old man, heading north on Kamanu Street.
The drivers of the truck and Jeep were not injured. The Jeep’s driver was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide and released pending investigation.

Big Isle police say X-rays snare drug suspect
A California man was charged Tuesday with drug-related crimes after he was arrested at Kona Airport on Easter Sunday and hospital X-rays showed he was concealing drugs, Hawaii island police said.
Gerald Wrischnik, 40, of Oceanside, Calif., was charged with first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, second-degree attempted meth trafficking, criminal conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $160,000.
Police said officers served a search warrant on Wrischnik at 7:43 p.m. after he arrived at the airport on a flight. The search warrant included an X-ray of his body at Kona Community Hospital, "where items were found concealed within his person."
Police said they found 175.6 grams of a black tarlike substance suspected to be heroin and 4.6 grams of a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
