Online voting on public school calendar ends Wednesday
Parents, students, educators and others have just one more day to vote online on their preferences for Hawaii’s public school calendar for the 2016-17 academic year.
The survey presents four options, ranging from the status quo, with students starting school Aug. 1, to one similar to mainland school calendars, with Aug. 22 as the students’ first day. The options include various lengths for winter and summer breaks.
The Department of Education will use input from the public to help develop the calendar for the 2016-17 school year. The calendar for 2015-06 is already set and is available at hawaiipublicschools.org.
