Kailua man released without being charged in alleged stabbing
A 43-year-old Kailua man who allegedly stabbed another man in the leg Sunday morning was released without being charged, police said Monday.
The case has been classified as a first-degree assault and is under investigation, Honolulu police said.
The two men know each other and were arguing at 5:30 a.m. when the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the upper thigh, according to a police report. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers arrested the suspect shortly afterward at his home on Akialoa Place.
