Jean-Pierre Poissonnet, who co-stars as a roller skater and featured singer in Alan Goldberg‘s "CabaRAE" extravaganza at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, tied the knot with Kimberley Gustavson on Jan. 12 in Las Vegas. JP, as he is known, met the Honolulu health care administrator on the boardwalk fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village while she was roller-skating as he was bicycling.
It was sort of love at first sight when she flashed by with eye-catching pink hair, tutu and a burst of vibrant colors.
"What a fun lady," he thought. She was equally amazed to discover that he does a skating routine with Wanda Goldberg as part of the production’s Skating Willers act in "CabaRAE."
The couple scooted off to the gambling capital to tie the knot at — where else? — the Graceland Chapel, officiated by an Elvis look-alike, natch. Other newlyweds and lovers can celebrate Valentine’s Day on Saturday with a romantic date at "CabaRAE" heaping with dinner options, chocolate-dipped strawberries and other extras. …
UPDATES: That earlier-announced USA Network cable pilot from Carlton Cuse ("Lost") called "The Colony," starring Josh Holloway, has been granted series status with a 10-episode order. However, the launch date has not been announced.
"The Colony" will be Holloway’s first series since the failed CBS vehicle "Intelligence."
Of course, Holloway co-starred asSawyer in ABC’s "Lost" and is a Hawaii Kai homeowner. On "The Colony" he plays ex-FBI agent Will Bowman, who must collaborate with a foreign occupational government in a futuristic Los Angeles. Hawaii actress Sarah Wayne Callies as Katie, wife of Holloway’s character, gives the series a local undercurrent. You know her from AMC’s "The Walking Dead" and Fox’s "Prison Break."
Cuse’s collaborator isRyan Condal of "Hercules," according to the Hollywood Reporter. …
And the mystery is over. After sporting such titles as "Deep Tiki" and "Untitled Cameron Crowe Project," the director has decided to call his feature "Aloha" and has set a May 29 premiere date. Filmed rather secretly in Hawaii in 2013, the film will be Bradley Cooper‘s first since his megahit "American Sniper"; the Oscar nominee plays a military contractor presumed dead but dispatched to Hawaii to oversee the launch of a U.S. space weapons satellite. Hollywood A-listers Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray and Alec Baldwin are among those featured. Writer-director Crowe’s past credits include "Jerry Maguire," "Almost Famous" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." …
REMEMBERING RICHARD: Artist-writer Lynn Cook lost her husband, Richard Hardy, to cancer Dec. 30, and her kumu hula, Mapuana de Silva, and her Halau Mohala ‘Ilima hula sisters are holding a fundraiser in his memory from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the second-floor Lotus Room at the Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head, 2885 Kalakaua Ave. The hotel fundraiser will help Cook deal with medical and living expenses incurred since Richard’s condition was discovered in October. Kuana Torres Kahele and Henry Kapono are among a growing list of participating performers. A donation of $20 at the door is suggested, which includes pupu, but beverages are no-host. …
