Lost hiker rescued in Pupukea
After hiking for nearly four hours Wednesday morning a 32-year-old man called the fire department saying he was lost on the West Kaunala trail in Pupukea.
The hiker called for help on his cell phone at 9:47 a.m. and was airlifted by the fire department’s helicopter at 10:20 a.m. to the Sunset Beach fire station.
He was not injured.
Six fire companies participated in the rescue effort which centered in the area next to the Boy Scout camp.
