Hawaii finishes eighth at Klipper
Oklahoma State compiled a 2-under-par, three-round total of 862 to win its fourth Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational Wednesday at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Texas A&M’s Marijosse Navarro finished the tourney at 3-under to claim the individual title in the 30th annual event.
The Aggies finished second in the team competition, eight strokes behind Oklahoma State and 20 strokes ahead of Middle Tennessee State, which claimed third. Hawaii finished the two-day tournament with a 49-over 913, a mark that slotted the squad in eighth place behind Nevada (911) and Idaho (910).
Isabella Leung finished at 219 and led all Hawaii golfers with the 12th-place effort.
HPU splits softball double dip
Hawaii Pacific starting pitcher Kristen Caskey improved to 5-0 after allowing two runs on 10 hits in a complete-game effort to help the Sharks stave off Azusa Pacific, 5-2, in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday at Howard A Okita Field.
The Cougars (14-14, 8-9 PacWest) took the second game by a 10-4 margin and were aided by seven unearned runs allowed by the Sharks.
HPU (10-4, 3-3) got two hits apiece from third baseman Dorian Acierto and Toni Baysa. Starting pitcher Paige Crawford (3-2) took the loss after surrendering seven runs (three earned) on 10 hits.

Kalynn Latu led the Seasiders at the plate, finishing with two RBIs.
UH Hilo swept by Dixie State
On the strength of a five-run third inning, visiting Dixie State downed UH Hilo 9-2 on Wednesday at Wong Stadium.
The Vulcans then dropped the doubleheader’s second game, 5-0.
The Red Storm (9-0, 4-0 PacWest) chased Vulcans starter Eric Vega (1-2) after he allowed eight runs on eight hits in 2 2⁄3 innings in the opener. UH Hilo dropped to 5-12 and 3-9 in the PacWest.
