UH soccer team loses lead, match to Wazzu
The Hawaii women’s soccer team could not make a one-goal halftime lead stand up as Washington State scored three times in the second period for a 3-1 victory on Sunday night at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
UH (2-4) got Krystal Pascua’s third goal of the season, but found no more offense after the break in the finale of the Outrigger Resorts Classic. The Rainbow Wahine next play four straight road matches before returning for their alumnae game on Sept. 27.
Wazzu’s Beau Bremer scored twice for the Cougars (3-0-2).
It was UH’s third home loss to Pac-12 teams this season.
Top-ranked UCLA won the four-team tournament earlier Sunday with a 2-0 win over No. 11 Pepperdine.
