A&B adding security for Target Kailua debut
A&B Properties Inc. said Friday it will provide increased security and traffic management services to minimize congestion and promote pedestrian safety in Kailua during Target’s opening on Wednesday and other expected high-traffic periods throughout the month.
"We want to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible," said Jon Moyer, director of asset management, who oversees A&B’s Kailua operations. "While Target owns their own property and is not a tenant of A&B, we welcome them to Kailua and are pleased to help support their opening by providing traffic assistance to promote a pleasant and safe experience for pedestrians and motorists in Kailua Town."
A&B Properties is working with the Honolulu Police Department to position a special-duty officer and security personnel at various locations on Hahani Street to assist drivers and pedestrians and promote an orderly flow of traffic.

Data on drivers breached, Uber says
NEW YORK » Uber says a database containing the names and driver’s license numbers of 50,000 of its drivers was breached in May.
The ride-sharing service says it has notified the drivers and hasn’t received any reports of the information being misused. Uber says it will offer a one-year membership in Experian’s ProtectMyID Alert identity theft protection service to the drivers involved. The company said Friday the breach affects drivers in multiple states but involves only a "small percentage" of its current and former drivers.
Uber is the latest company to report a data breach in recent months. Others include retailer Home Depot, health insurer Anthem and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The problems can be costly as well as damaging to consumers’ perception of a company.
