Moped driver in critical condition after Waianae crash
A moped driver went off the road and hit a rock wall and utility pole, suffering critical head injuries Wednesday night, police said.
Paramedics took the 20-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition following the 9 p.m. crash on Waianae Valley Road near Palapala Place.
The victim was not wearing a helmet, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
Police said speed was not a factor in the crash. It’s unknown if alcohol played a role.
