Surfer accused of attempted murder arrested again
A 30-year-old female surfer accused of trying to kill a woman with her car was arrested again Saturday on suspicion of violating a protective order.
Jill A. Hansen was arrested at 4:55 p.m. at the Women’s Community Correctional Center in Kailua. Her court date has been scheduled for Sept. 5 in Family Court.
On May 17, Hansen allegedly followed a 73-year-old woman into a secured parking garage at Diamond Head Apartments and hit the woman with her car as the woman got out of her vehicle.
Hansen was charged with second-degree attempted murder, vehicle break-in, and car theft. She was denied bail.
A hearing has been set for Sept. 25 to determine her fitness to proceed to trial.
On May 19, while in custody, Hansen apparently attempted to slip out of the intake area of the Oahu Community Correctional Center as a staffer walked through the door that leads to the sally port.
