Savea racked up 178 yards after the first quarter. By halftime, he had completed 15 of 18 passes for 296 yards.
Anthony Pablo took Savea’s spot at quarterback in the second half.
"I just trusted my line so I could do my job," Savea said. "I had plenty of time. I couldn’t have done it without my line."
Javal Medlin caught three touchdown passes from Savea in the first quarter. Medlin caught two of his passes by reaching over a Kailua defender in the end zone.
His third catch put the Sabers ahead 26-0 at the end of the first quarter.
"He’s one of our go-to receivers," Savea said of Medlin.
Even with the big win, Medlin said there’s more work ahead for his Sabers.
"If we can fix our mistakes … this game can help us if we learn from our mistakes," Medlin said.
Campbell’s defense didn’t allow quarterback Martin Tigilau to complete any of his eight passing attempts for Kailua (0-4, 0-4).
Paepaeiva Silifaiva-Kaeha rushed for 106 yards in the loss.
