Inmate on work furlough arrested at burglary scene near Honolulu airport
Police caught two men, one of whom was a prison inmate out on a work furlough program, at the scene of a burglary in progress.
An alarm company detected an alarm system triggered at a business establishment on Tuesday night and notified the Honolulu Police Department.
Inmate Andrew Kaoihana, 54, and a 49-year-old man, who did not give police an address when he was booked, were found inside of an airport business with burglary tools, according to a police report.
Police arrested the men on suspicion of second-degree burglary, resisting arrest and possession of burglary tools.
Police said the burglary occurred between 10:25 and 11:37 p.m. Tuesday.
Kaoihana was supposed to return from his job at 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Kaoihana is serving time for drug and theft charges. His parole hearing was scheduled for May
The two men have not been charged.
