Firefighters contain small brush fire above UH
Honolulu fire personnel have contained a brush fire near the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Honolulu Fire Department Capt. David Jenkins said the one- to two-acre fire, which was above the UH faculty housing near the water tanks, did not threaten any structures. It was contained at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire was reported at 1:28 p.m. and the first company arrived at 1:37 p.m.
Eight companies, including Air 1 responded to the blaze.
Jenkins said the call came from the UH Hawaiian Studies Department on Dole Street.
HFD investigators have not yet determined a cause.
