Adam Hurley hit the tie-breaking RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning and Juliene Jones worked a perfect ninth inning to save Hawaii’s 6-3 win over Nevada on Sunday.

Stephen Ventimilia had three of Hawaii’s nine hits and Kaeo Aliviado drove in three runs for the Rainbow Warriors (8-11), who ended a four-game losing streak.

Kewby Meyer went 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run for Nevada (9-10), but made a crucial error in the bottom of the eighth inning allowing two more Hawaii runners to score on Hurley’s hit.

Nevada coach Jay Johnson was ejected from the game with two outs in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Jarrett Arakawa worked seven innings for UH, allowing two runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Quintin Torres-Costa (1-0) got the win after allowing a two-out RBI single to Jeff Nellis in the top of the eighth to tie the game at 3-3.

Torres-Costa pitched for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year.

The finale of the four-game series is Monday night at 6:35.
