Driving skills for teens will be taught free Nov. 8 at Aloha Stadium in the annual TeenDrive365 staged by Toyota.
Motor vehicle crashes continue to be the leading cause of death among teenagers.
The program is intended to give families tips and resources for a teen’s first year of driving, and will include teaching of defensive driving skills, crash avoidance techniques, and the dangers of distracted driving. The program is open to new drivers with a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit, as well as to those soon to obtain a permit.
"Toyota Hawaii is excited to partner with this national Toyota program being conducted for the first time in Hawaii," said Glenn Inouye, senior vice president.
The 21⁄2-hour program is free, but registration is required online via events.teendrive365.com.
