Costco recalls packaged sliced fruit over Salmonella concerns
Costco has recalled a packaged fruit item because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Costco said the product can be identified by the package information as follows:
Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit
Item: 527069
Best By Date: Feb. 14, 2015-March 11, 2015
The recalled products may be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious infections in young children, frail or elderly people and those with weakened immune systems, Costco said in a letter posted on its website.
Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
Customers are advised to return it immediately to local Costco for a full refund.
