Medeiros is second team All-American
Waiakea graduate Kodi Medeiros was named a second-team High School All-American by Baseball America on Wednesday.
Medeiros, a left-handed pitcher, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 12th overall pick in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on June 5. He went 7-1 with an 0.97 earned-run average and struck out 83 in 43 innings in his senior season, helping the Warriors capture the Big Island Interscholastic Federation title.
Five pitchers were named to Baseball America’s first team and Medeiros was among the five to make the second team. Medeiros also earned Gatorade State Player of the Year honors in May.
