Power restored in Makaha after crash downs line
An accident near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Army St. in Makaha caused a power outage that left 2,400 customers without electricity early Wednesday morning.
A Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman said crews restored power to most customers by 5:20 a.m., and to another 700 customers by 8:30 a.m.
Crews completed repairs to a power line, knocked down in the crash, and a guy wire that helps support a utility pole could be repaired.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries from the crash.
