Hawaiian Air card fees, rates to be same for 1 year
Barclaycard US said annual fees and interest rates for nearly 300,000 existing Hawaiian Airlines Visa cardholders will remain the same for the first year after Barclaycard takes over accounts April 28 that are transferred from Bank of America and are switched to MasterCard. Barclaycard said existing cardholders will be notified in advance if there are any future fee or rate changes.
Barclaycard also said it will not increase current annual percentage rates for purchases, balance transfers, cash advances or minimum interest charges for existing card members during that first year. Bank of Hawaii will stay part of the alliance as the marketing and servicing partner.
Barclaycard said new cardholders will pay an $89 annual fee — some existing cardholders pay $50 now — and the annual interest rate will be either 15.99 percent or 24.99 percent, depending on credit history. Some existing cardholders now pay less than 11 percent.
