The LG was so busy he had to miss debates?
We’ll apply the same campaign-season criticism to Lt. Gov. Shan Tsutsui that we did to his boss, Gov. Neil Abercrombie, when the gov recently backed out of three scheduled gubernatorial debates. It’s a disservice to voters — especially undecided ones who benefit from seeing the candidates in face-to-face exchanges — and breaking a string of commitments doesn’t reflect well on any candidate. Tsutsui cites conflicts in his packed schedule for opting out of three forums against main rival, state Sen. Clayton Hee. Who knew the LG job was so action-packed?
