Already 11 matches into the season, the sixth-ranked Rainbow Wahine water polo team will play its first at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on Saturday.
UH (7-4) faces No. 8 CSUN (10-8) in its Big West opener at 5:30 p.m.
The Wahine had nearly two weeks to prepare for its first conference match following a sixth-place finish at the UC Irvine Invitational. UH went 2-2 in the tournament with wins over No. 19 UC San Diego and No. 7 Arizona State and losses to top-ranked UCLA and No. 5 UC Irvine.
Chloe Barr, a sophomore from Australia, has scored in nine of UH’s 11 matches and leads the Wahine with 22 goals, followed by Paula Chillida Esforzado’s 17 goals and Claire Nixon’s 15. Sophomore Sarah Logan has taken over in goal this season and has 52 saves.
