Jordan Richartz hit a two-run double as part of a five-run fourth inning as Hawaii took the series lead against Pepperdine with a 6-1 victory on Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

UH scored five runs in an inning for the first time in 55 games, dating back to Feb. 24, 2013 against Rice. Trevor Podratz, Austin Wobrock and Conner George all had RBI singles for Hawaii (6-5), which has won six of seven.

Jackson McClelland (2-1) had faced the minimum through 3 2/3 innings before giving up a walk and five straight hits.

Scott Kuzminsky (1-1) allowed one run on six hits in seven innings with no walks and five strikeouts to pick up the win.

Mid-Pacific alum Ivan Dilda pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts for Pepperdine (7-3).

Hawaii second baseman Juliene Jones singled and scored in the fourth to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Richartz finished with two hits, two runs and a stolen base and Podratz was 2-for-4.

UH has held Pepperdine to three runs in 29 innings and allowed only three walks while committing no errors.

Junior Andrew Jones worked the final two innings in relief of Kuzminsky, allowing leadoff doubles in both innings without allowing a run. He struck out three.

The final game of the series is Saturday night at 6:05 p.m.
