Waikoloa man held on drug charges
A 48-year-old Waikoloa man was charged with numerous drug and firearm violations after a search of his home and vehicle Thursday yielded 5.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and 10 firearms.
Tandi "Duke" Ezzo was charged Friday with six counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, a single count of third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug, 10 counts of not having a permit to acquire a firearm and 10 counts of lacking mandatory firearm registration, according to a news release issued by Hawaii County Police Department.
Ezzo’s aggregate bail was set at $39,000. He is being held at the Kona police cellblock pending an initial court appearance Monday.
Teen faces tougher penalty in abuse case
A 16-year-old girl faces a possible felony domestic abuse charge after she allegedly attacked a 41-year-old woman in the presence of the victim’s two grandsons.
Police said the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Kalihi. The suspect also allegedly attacked the woman’s 24-year-old daughter.
Until 2013 domestic abuse in the presence of a child under 14 was a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail or two years of probation. It is now a Class C felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
Police want public’s help to find arsonist
Maui police are asking for the public’s help in finding an arsonist who set a home on fire in Makawao.
