Motorcyclist, 22, critically injured in Kaneohe collision
A minivan crashed into a 22-year-old Kai-lua woman riding a motorcycle Thursday, critically injuring her in Kane-ohe.
Police said the accident occurred at 12:25 p.m. at Kahe-kili Highway and Keaahala Road near Kaneohe District Park.
The 18-year-old Kaha-luu woman driving the gold Honda Odyssey was not injured, police said.
Police Lt. Robert Towne said the motorcyclist was heading west on Keaahala when the minivan driver, heading east on Keaahala, attempted to make a left turn onto Kahe-kili and struck the motorcycle in the middle of the intersection.
Towne said the minivan driver likely did not see the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, which left a crack in the right side of the windshield, Towne said.
