Waipahu man arrested in traffic death case
Police arrested a 21-year-old Waipahu man Friday night at the Queen’s Medical Center for the death of a 22-year-old man resulting from a Pearl City crash Thursday morning.
Police arrested the man 8:30 p.m. Friday on suspicion of first-degree negligent homicide and driving without a license.
The crash occurred at 4:19 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Kuala and Acacia streets near the Pearl Highlands Center.
Paramedics took the 22-year-old male passenger in critical condition to the hospital, where he later died.
The 21-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital in serious condition after the car hit a pole.
