Washington woman, boyfriend dead in apparent murder-suicide
GRAHAM, Wash. >> A Pierce County, Washington, sheriff’s spokesman says detectives think a woman fatally shot her estranged boyfriend, then drove to a church parking lot and killed herself.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer says officers believe "it was a homicide-suicide." He says the two were in the process of breaking up.
The spokesman says a woman found her adult son dead in his bedroom Tuesday in the community of Graham. Troyer says the man in his 30s had a gunshot wound to the head.
Detectives found no weapon so they ruled out suicide and started looking for the man’s live-in girlfriend.
On Tuesday night, deputies found the woman’s pickup truck in a Tacoma church parking lot about eight miles from the Graham home. The woman, also in her 30s, was dead from what Troyer says is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Pierce County medical examiner will identify the couple.
