Hawaii Kai man arrested in fatal car-motorcycle crash
A 31-year-old Hawaii Kai man was arrested in connection with the death of a motorcyclist last year in Aiea.
Police said the accident took place Feb. 28 on Kaonohi Street, when the suspect, driving a black Volkswagen Golf, turned into the path of a motorcycle. The cycle operator, Warren White, Jr., was thrown from the bike and suffered fatal head injuries.
Police said White was driving a blue 2001 Yamaha R-1 motorcycle that crashed into a black Volkswagen Golf.
The car was trying to make a U-turn on Kaonohi Street into the path of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle slammed into the front quarter panel of the passenger side of the car, police said. The impact caused White to be ejected from his motorcycle.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition where he died March 2.
