Chaminade men fall at Fresno Pacific
Malcolm Griffin scored 25 points and Antonio Credit added 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Fresno Pacific to a 105-91 victory over Chaminade in a Pacific West Conference men’s basketball game Saturday in Fresno, Calif.
Kevin Hu had 22 points and Bennie Murray 21 for the Silverswords (7-8, 4-3). Fresno Pacific is 10-6 and 5-3.
» At Oakland, Calif., Farbod Farman had 20 points and nine rebounds as Hawaii Pacific (6-7, 3-3) kept Holy Names (3-12, 0-7) winless with a 75-48 win.
» At San Francisco, Alex Carmon had 20 points and Ameer Shamsud-din 19 as Academy of Art (4-10, 2-4) routed Hawaii Hilo 82-58. Mychael Hearn led the Vulcans (3-13, 1-7) with 10 points.
HPU women roll to 100-81 victory
Melody Ladrido had 25 points and Skye Savini 13 points and 12 rebounds to power the Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team to a 100-81 victory over Holy Names in a Pacific West Conference game Saturday in Oakland, Calif.
HPU improved to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the PacWest. Britney Potestio had 28 points for the Hawks (9-6, 3-3).
»At San Francisco, Shannon Rousseau hit all four of her 3-point shots for a team-high 12 points as Hawaii Hilo (8-6, 5-3) upset Academy of Art 60-57. The Urban Knights fell to 12-4 and 5-1.
»At Fresno, Calif., Fresno Pacific (1-14, 1-7) posted its first win of the season with an 80-56 thumping of Chaminade (1-11, 1-6). Nikki Tauau’s 14 points led the Silverswords.
