Cheryl Williams, a recognized leader in Hawaii’s visitor industry, has been named general manager for The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort.
Williams, who will assume her new role Feb. 2, fills the job left vacant by the recent departure of Kelly Hoen, who is now general manager of The Modern Honolulu.
"Cheryl’s proven leadership and long-term success will ensure an amazing future for our teams, guests and partners," said Kelly Sanders, area managing director, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Waikiki.
Williams, who has more than 30 years of experience, most recently was regional director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Hawaii and French Polynesia.
Her past industry and community leadership roles include serving on the board of directors of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and the Oahu Visitors Bureau. She now serves as an advisory trustee of the ALS Hawaii Chapter.
