Hawaii Pacific shuts out Chaminade twice

Lauren Beard recorded three of Hawaii Pacific’s nine hits en route to a 5-0 win over Chaminade in Game 1 of Sunday’s softball doubleheader at Howard A. Okita Field. Pitcher Melissa Kirby went the distance, scattering four hits in the win for the Sea Warriors.

In Game 2, HPU (4-0) scored seven runs in the first two innings on the way to a 7-0 win over the Silverswords (0-2). Nicole Morrow homered, and Kristen Caskey had three RBIs.
