5 score in double figures for BYUH men

Daniel Berger had 18 points and six rebounds to power the BYU-Hawaii men’s basketball team to an 88-67 victory over Holy Names on Saturday in a Pacific West Conference game in Oakland, Calif.

Five players scored in double figures for the Seasiders (12-2, 6-2 PacWest). Pablo Coro chipped in 15 points and Scott Friel, Luke Aston and Ian Harward each added 10.

Dante Robinson led Holy Names (2-14, 0-8) with 16 points.

basketball team routed Notre Dame de Namur 102-62 in Belmont, Calif.

Kevin Hu added 16 points for Chaminade (6-7, 3-4), while James Harper had 14.

Jamaal Davis led the Argonauts (3-13, 2-8) with 23 points.

Clayton Guy grabbed eight rebounds for the Sharks (11-4, 6-3 PacWest), who led 18-16 at halftime.

Bobby Barnes finished with 16 points and Trevon Clayton had 15 rebounds for the Sunbirds (5-10, 1-7).

Josh Armstrong finished with 17 points and eight rebounds for the Penguins (7-10, 4-5).

Darius Johnson-Wilson had 16 points and nine rebounds and Vandyon Lockett added 13 points for the Vulcans (7-7, 3-5).

Chaminade women end road drought

In its ninth year of existence, the Chaminade women’s basketball team accomplished a feat it never had before — winning on the mainland.

Lilia Maio scored a season-high 18 points and Shana Kawakami’s layup with eight seconds left off a turnover gave the Silverswords a 72-71 road victory over Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, Calif.

Chaminade (2-9, 2-5 Pacific West Conference) won back-to-back games for the first time since February 2007.

Breanna Mackenzie added 18 points and Chenise Peone had 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Sharks (14-2, 9-0).

Keairre White had 18 points and Megan Lee added 17 for the Sunbirds (2-11, 2-6).

>> Whitney Fieldsted’s fifth double-double in the past six games led the BYU-Hawaii women’s basketball team to a 73-59 triumph Saturday over Holy Names in Oakland, Calif.

Fieldsted recorded a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds to go with four assists in the victory. It was the fourth consecutive win for the Seasiders (9-5, 6-2).
