Sea Warriors beat Urban Knights
Marko Cukic scored 17 points and Malte Ziegenhagen added 15 to help the Hawaii Pacific men’s basketball team defeat Academy of Art 72-66 in a Pacific West Conference game Saturday at Blaisdell Arena.
Max Livingston had 12 points, going 4-for-4 from behind the arc, and Jelany White had 11 points for the Sea Warriors (4-5, 1-1).
Ameer Shamsud-din led the Urban Knights (3-7, 1-2) with 22 points.

Jammall Clark added 14 points for the Penguins (7-4, 3-0). Mychael Hern scored 23 points, Kiel Myers had 17 and Michael Melonas had 16 for the Vulcans (2-9, 0-3), who led 40-37 at the half.

Bennie Murray added 18 points and Kevin Hu 14, and Dominique Cooks had 10 points and eight assists for the Silverswords (4-7, 1-2). The Hawks (3-8, 0-4) were led by Nick Simi with 20 points.
Vulcans fall short against Penguins
Jazlyn Afusia’s shot at the buzzer went off the back of the rim, and the Hawaii Hilo women’s basketball team fell short against Dominican, 57-55, in a PacWest game in Hilo.
Kirsty Imai scored 12 points to lead the Vulcans (4-6, 1-3). The Penguins (3-8, 2-1) got 12 points from Sarah Nelson.

Kennedi Akana had 16 points and Dianna Zane had 15 for the Silverswords (1-7). Renique Fitzpatrick led the Hawks (7-5) with 17 points.
