Another Dodger no-hitter
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Clayton Kershaw, dominant and nearly perfect, tossed the second no-hitter in less than a month for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner struck out 15 in an 8-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
Josh Beckett also tossed a no-hitter for the Dodgers on May 25, beating Philadelphia 6-0.
It is the first time since 1956 that two Dodgers have thrown no-hitters in the same season.
The only runner to reach base against Kershaw was Corey Dickerson, who got on a two-base throwing error by shortstop Hanley Ramirez to start the seventh.
Kershaw’s strikeout total was a career high.
