Marine is charged in wife’s stabbing
Prosectors charged a 26-year-old Kaneohe Marine with allegedly stabbing his wife in the chest Thursday morning.
Joshua McCray, a sergeant at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, is charged with second-degree assault, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in District Court.
Civil Defense sirens go off in false alarm
The sounding of state Civil Defense sirens Monday throughout Kauai was a false alarm, a Kauai County spokeswoman said.
"There is no civil defense emergency at this time," the county said in a news release.
The regular monthly siren test is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Suspect sought in shooting on Big Island
Hawaii County police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that has been classified as a second-degree attempted murder in the Puna District over the weekend.
Police said the suspect is a man known as "Dennis," who is described as between 40 and 50 years old, with short salt-and-pepper hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing denim shorts, police said.
Police responded Saturday to an incident involving a man brandishing a machete at an Eden Roc subdivision home in Mountain View.
Police found a 30-year-old man with gunshot wounds on 6th Street. The man stopped his tow truck and told police what happened, police said.
He was taken to Hilo Medical Center in serious condition and was later released. He was arrested for unrelated warrants and remains in police custody.
