Makaha man indicted in attack
An Oahu grand jury indicted a 21-year-old Makaha man on charges of first-degree assault and robbery for allegedly stabbing the son of a Waianae hardware store owner.
Chad Teisina III, also known as Chad Tisina, is being held in the Oahu Community Correctional Center in connection with the May 28 stabbing of Jerry Tsuneyoshi, who works at Waianae Hardware and is the owner’s son. His bail is $100,000.
Teisina was initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. The charges were later reduced to first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.
The arresting officer said in an affidavit that he stopped Teisina and told him to sit on a curb along Farrington Highway. Teisina then pulled out a hunting knife with an 8-inch blade from his waistband, according to the affidavit.
