7 isle restaurants dubbed ‘most romantic’
The annual OpenTable.com list of the top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America includes seven Hawaii fine-dining venues.
Hawaii restaurants on the list are La Mer at Halekulani, Michel’s at the Colony Surf and Sarento’s Top of the ‘I’ in Honolulu; Brown’s Beach House at The Fairmont Orchid on the Kohala Coast and ‘Ulu Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge in Kaupulehu on Hawaii island; Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante Maui in Wailea; and Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt Kauai in Poipu.
The list is not offered in ranked order by OpenTable.com, and while Hawaii, Texas and Virginia each have seven winning restaurants, Florida has eight, and California boasts the most restaurants on the list at 14.
OpenTable.com compiled the list based on more than 5 million reviews of nearly 19,000 restaurants across the U.S. between Jan. 14, 2013, and Jan. 15, 2014.
The list is always released before Valentine’s Day, one of the restaurant industry’s busiest nights.

Boeing stock slips despite year-end profits
Boeing is building airplanes faster, but Wall Street wants it to build profits faster, too.
Boeing Co. shares slid Wednesday after it said this year’s profit and revenue would grow less than analysts had been expecting.
There are a number of reasons. Boeing’s defense business is slowing down as governments dial back spending. Some planes slated for delivery in early 2014 were instead delivered late last year — that helped boost Boeing’s fourth-quarter profit, but will take away from this year’s results. And deliveries of its new 787 are a mixed bag, financially. They bring in cash, but hurt profit margins as Boeing accounts for the money it spent developing the plane.
