The 20th annual Mufi Hannemann Basketball Jamboree, featuring players in the 12-and-under division all the way through college, will be held Saturday at Manoa Valley District Park gym.
Sixteen teams in three divisions will compete in the day-long girls basketball tournament, which begins at 9 a.m. The divisions are 12 and under, 14 and under, and high school/college alumnae. Four teams will compete in each keiki division, while eight teams will play in the high school/college division.
Games will tip off on the hour in the single-elimination tournament. Admission is free.
The tournament features some of the state’s top high school players, along with former college players such as Keisha Kanekoa (Hawaii), Jamie Smith (UNLV), Brandy Richardson (UC Santa Barbara), Summer Aona (Lassen), Shanna Dacanay (Washington of St. Louis), Nikki Fu (Concordia), Kii Spencer-Vasconcellos (Menlo), Shannon Riley (Menlo), Tiffany Shim (Cal Lutheran), Sharon Wahinekapu (Portland State) and Elyse Umeda (Princeton).
Coaching the high school/college teams will be Scott DeSilva (Kahuku), Nadine Villarmia (Waipahu), Richardson (Radford), Many Llamedo (Kailua), Elizabeth Kam (Mid-Pacific), Kyla Evers (UH), and Courtney Robinson (Punahou).
