Moped rider dies after crash
A 67-year-old man died Thursday in the Queen’s Medical Center after a crash involving a moped and another vehicle near Moanalua Road and Ualo Street in Aiea, police said.
Paramedics responded about 3 p.m. and took the moped operator in critical condition to the hospital. The man’s moped hit another vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet, Emergency Medical Services officials said.
Man is found dead after fall
A man in his 20s died after he fell about 35 feet through a roof in Kalihi, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
Paramedics responded to McGuire Bearing Co., 1919 Hau St., at 1:55 p.m. and found the victim dead at the scene.
Collision sends pair to hospital
Two people were injured in a motor vehicle collision at the Ka Uka Boulevard offramp of the H-2 freeway Thursday night, the Emergency Medical Services Division reports.
A man in his 20s was taken in critical condition to a hospital. A 20-year-old female was transported in stable condition.
Police closed the offramp from the northbound freeway at about 7:30 p.m. to investigate the crash.
Soldier charged with robbery
A 32-year-old Schofield Barracks soldier has been charged with taking a purse from a woman in Pearl City on New Year’s Eve.
Frederick Warren was charged with second-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a vehicle Wednesday. His bail was set at $20,000.
Police said the incident occurred just before midnight when a male suspect confronted the 29-year-old woman as she sat in her car. Police said the suspect used force to take the purse. The victim was injured while fighting back, and the suspect fled with her purse.
