Army National Guard officer arrested on child pornography charges
An Army National Guard captain was arrested today by U.S. marshals for alleged possession of child pornography and will be extradited to Missouri.
Darrin J. Taylor, 47, is being held in the Honolulu Police Department cell block on an arrest warrant that was issued in the Circuit Court of Christian County, Mo., charging him with two class C felony counts of possession of child pornography in the first degree. The alleged possession occurred on or about Oct. 28, 2010.
Officers from the U.S. marshals, Hawaii State sheriff deputies and U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations special agents arrested Taylor at his home in the 300 block of Gemini Avenue in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
With Taylor was a 16-month-old child who is believed to be Taylor’s son. The child was turned over to Taylor’s spouse, who was at work at the time.
The U.S. Marshals task force said Taylor relocated to Honolulu in August. He is being held on two bonds of $10,000 each.
