Reinke and Tymn to speak at QB Club
Long-distance swimmer Stefan Reinke and long-distance runner Mike Tymn will speak at the Honolulu Quarterback Club’s luncheon on Monday at Maple Garden restaurant.
Reinke just returned from the 36-mile End-Wet marathon swim, which stretches from North Dakota to Minnesota down the Red River. Reinke, a coach for Boca Hawaii and Endurance Training, will discuss how he trained for one of the longest marathon swims in the world.
Tymn is a freelance writer who has covered swimming, biking and triathlons for more than four decades. He was also one of the top distance runners in the 1970s and early 1980s, clinching four national masters championships. Tymn will talk about how metrics have contributed to the decline of track and field in the United States.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the cost $15 per person.
