Burst pipe causes flooding at HGEA headquarters
There will be clean up Tuesday at the Hawaii Government Employees Association headquarters in Honolulu.
Hawaii News Now reports the first two floors of the building were flooded early in the morning.
A security guard making the rounds found water in the building about 2 a.m. Fire officials say a cap on a pipe in a newly remodeled bathroom on the second floor burst. That sent water flowing down stairwells, the elevator shaft and light fixtures.
There’s no immediate damage estimate at the building that is home to Hawaii’s largest union, representing about 43,000 state workers.
