A 27-year-old Princeville man has been charged in an assault on a 42-year-old man at Anini Beach Thursday afternoon, the Garden Island newspaper reported.

Kyle Matthew Welch was charged with second-degree attempted murder, the newspaper reported.
The victim remains hospitalized after being transported to Wilcox Memorial Hospital in critical condition following the fight near the end of Anini Road.
