4 pros picked to play in skills competition

Davis Love III, Fred Funk, Jerry Kelly, John Daly and a pro to be named later will participate with five Hawaii State Junior Golf Association members in the 2015 Acura Hawaii Pro-Junior Skills Challenge.

The exhibition opens Sony Open in Hawaii week. It will be Jan. 13, at 2:45 p.m., at Waialae Country Club. Admission is free.

HSJGA golfers who qualified are Kyle Suppa, Shawn Lu, Rose Huang, Malia Nam and Aiko Leong. Suppa also earned the amateur exemption to play in the Sony Open, which starts Jan. 15. Suppa fired a 66 at his home course in the November qualifier.

The HSJGA participants will be on KHON’s Wake Up Today show Jan. 7-9 and 12-13.
