A California-based business is recalling some 48,139 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat sukiyaki beef and gingered pork products that may be contaminated with extraneous metal materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday.
The problem was reported to Unibright Foods, Inc. by a distributor who had been notified by a restaurant in Illinois that they found stainless-steel wire in a sukiyaki beef product. The company has received no reports of injury or illness from consumption of the product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness from consumption of the beef and pork products should contact a health care provider.
The products were shipped to institutions and retail outlets in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey and New York.

» Mishima gingered pork, 1.7-pound packages with the establishment number "EST.1163" inside the USDA mark of inspection and package ID number "15059."
